Alumni/ae

There are over 500 graduates of the Conway School of Landscape Design located throughout the United States, Canada, and several other countries. Graduates contribute actively to the school as guest speakers and critics, as contacts and liaisons for prospective applicants and projects, and as a professional network for recent graduates. In addition, alumni/e serve on the CSLD Board of Trustees and its committees, and as Advisors. Graduates also contribute to their communities, serving on planning boards, conservation commission, and boards of health, or volunteering design services to local schools and community groups.

The careers pursued by graduates are as diverse as their backgrounds before attending CSLD.

  • They work as independent landscape designers, design/build contractors, and in design, engineering, and landscape architecture firms.

  • They work as municipal, regional, and state planners, and as independent planning consultants.

  • They are conservation officers, land trust staff, National Park Service employees, and land acquisition or management agent for national, state and local land preservation agencies.

  • Some work in botanical gardens or nurseries, others focus on housing development.

  • Many end up teaching on the side, and nearly all continue to take classes to further their base of knowledge.

Each year, our annual alumni magazine, Con’text, provides an update of alumni/ae accomplishment and activities. Their profiles give an idea of what some recent graduates are doing and how their education at CSLD led to or influences their current work.
