Alicia BattistaKyle Haley

Thanks to the generosity of David Bird's family, the first David Bird International Service Fellowships were awarded at the Conway graduation on June 27, 2009.

Two graduates of the Conway Design School will be headed to Panama this summer as the the first recipients. Alicia Batista '07, of New York City, and Kyle Haley '09, of Golden, Colorado, were selected by an international committee made up of graduates, trustees, and friends of the Conway School. The school's original plan was to appoint just one Fellow this first year, but because of the strong applicationsand because of renewed support from major donorsit became possible to make two appointments for 2009-2010. Each Fellow will receive a $5000 stipend. Find out more>>

The David Bird International Service Fellowship was established to provide opportunities for recent Conway graduates to further develop their design and planning skills by undertaking public service projects outside the United States; engage and support agencies and public service non-governmental organizations in such projects; and enhance Conway’s graduate program and benefit current students by having returning Bird Fellows in residence at Conway.
