The Year at a Glance

Conway's Academic Calendar

The academic term begins on Labor Day, classes are held through May (with the exception of a two-week break in late December and another two-week spring break). Students must complete all academic and project work by the end of June.

Typical Annual Schedule:

FALL ORIENTATION TRIP
[ 9 days, from Thursday following Labor Day]

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT TERM
[14 weeks, September-December]

WINTER BREAK
[2 weeks, late December-early January]

FIRST COMMUNITY PROJECT: Winter
[10-11 weeks, January-March]

SPRING BREAK
[2 weeks, late March or early April]

SECOND COMMUNITY PROJECT: Spring
[10-11 weeks, April-June]

All academic work due: last day in June
Graduation ceremony: Last Sunday in June

Typical Weekly Schedule

Monday: morning classes; afternoon classes and meetings,  potluck supper and late afternoon speakers.  Talks open to the public are scheduled for Monday nights at Conway Grammar School.

Tuesday: studio

Wednesday: morning,  project presentations;  afternoon class on design issues; field trips may be scheduled.

Thursday: studio

Friday: Varies between classes and field trips.
